How do I delete my account?

We're sorry to see you go! If you've decided you no longer need your Turkish Mate account, you can delete it yourself directly from your dashboard.

How to Delete Your Account

  1. Log In: Access your Turkish Mate account with your email and password.
  2. Navigate to Settings: Go to your account dashboard. Look for a section typically named "Account Settings," "Profile Settings," or simply "Settings."
  3. Find the Delete Option: Within the settings area, look for an option related to account management or deletion. It might be labelled Delete Account, Close Account, or similar, possibly under an "Advanced" or "Account Management" subsection.
  4. Confirm Deletion: Click the delete button/link. You will likely be asked to confirm your decision, possibly by re-entering your password or checking a confirmation box. Read any warnings carefully.
  5. Account Deleted: Once confirmed, your account and associated data will be scheduled for deletion according to our data retention policies.

IMPORTANT: Consequences of Deletion

Please understand that deleting your account is a permanent action and cannot be undone easily, if at all. Deleting your account typically means:

  • You will lose access to your Turkish Mate dashboard immediately or shortly after confirmation.
  • Your lesson history, messages with tutors, and profile information will likely be permanently deleted.
  • Any remaining lesson credits or unused booked lessons may be forfeited (check specific terms if applicable).
  • You will no longer receive notifications or communications from Turkish Mate.
  • If you wish to use Turkish Mate again in the future, you will need to create a completely new account.

Alternatives to Consider

Before deleting, consider if simply taking a break might be sufficient. You can stop booking lessons without deleting your account, allowing you to return later if your plans change. If you're having a specific issue, consider contacting support first to see if it can be resolved.

Deleting your account is permanent. Please be absolutely sure before proceeding. You can initiate the process from your Account Settings area on your dashboard.
